Class Policies
You must pay for the class when you register. Phone reservations are accepted with a credit card. The supply list is provided when you pay your class fee. We can mail or fax the supply list.
If we cancel a class you will receive a full refund of the class fee.
If you are unable to attend a class and give us 10 days notice, we will give you an in-store credit for your class fee.
We are unable to give any refund or store credit for classes with out-of-state visiting teachers if you should be unable to attend.
Ten days prior to the start of the class, the class is committed to go. After that time there is no refund or in-store credit for missing a class.
Out of consideration for the instructor and other students, children, spouses or visitors are not allowed at classes unless enrolled as a student.

Class Levels
| Beginner | New to sewing and enthusiastic to learn! |
| Beginner Plus | Comfortable with reading a basic pattern and have made simple garments. Now you're ready to take the next step. |
| Intermediate | These classes assume you are experienced in reading a pattern and have sewn more complicated garments. These are faster paced classes and tackle more difficult patterns and special techniques. |

Back to Basics I
Learn the basics of the sewing machine, how to read a pattern, create a muslin sample and learn how to alter it to fit you perfectly. You'll also learn how to insert zippers and proper dart placement. We'll also talk about the notions that the professionals use and why! This class is four sessions with two instructors to ensure individual attention.

Back to Basics II
Pre-requisite for this class is Back to Basics I
With the pattern created in Back to Basics I, we will now create a skirt that will flatter your figure. Show off your curves or minimze, it's your pattern. You're the designer! Project Runway...here we come!

Heirloom Serging
Pre-requisite for this class is Serging 101.
Apply the techniques that you learned from Serging 101 and make a fancy band that can be used for a pillow top or yoked top. You will master rolled hemming, flatlock and shirring.

Kuspuk I
Have you been admiring all of those kuspuks we have around the store? Now, Yvonne with assistance from Cheri, will help you construct one for yourself. Learn how to select the correct pattern size, make personal adjustments, cut, construct and embellish with purchased trim. It's hard to stop with just one!

Kuspuk II with Kupok Trim
It's a good idea to have taken the Kuspuk I class prior to taking this class. You'll be using the same kuspuk pattern as before, but htis time, you'll learn how to insert a separating zipper and make your own kupok trim for embellishing the cuffs and bottom. Two instructors help to ensure individual attention.

Pull-Over Scrub
Rae understands the need for function of a scrub top, being an ER nurse. She has modified her patterns over the years to create fashion and function. Using a McCalls pattern as a base, she will show you tricks to make that scrub top work perfectly for you. No need to be a doctor or a nurse. Scrub tops are great for teachers, gardeners and seamstresses.

Serging 101
Time to get that serger out of the box and put it to work! This is an intensive serging class that will teach you all of the functions you'll need to help you master that machine! Learn the difference between a rolled hem and a flatlock. You'll create a technique book with lots of samples to refer back to time and time again.

Smocked Pillow
The art of smocking is back, well, actually it never went away! Mary is an expert and will teach you this beautiful art form while constructing a smocked band that will be incorporated into a pillow. Mary will provide the pre-pleated cotton batiste band that is needed for the project. Kit fee of $6.00 to be paid to the teacher.

Trims, Beads and Embellishments
